Hey Branduin,

Great idea!

Singalongable music is especially good. I think it was St. Augustine, who said that "Singing (in praise) is like praying twice".

But I don't know if was for the singer that it was like "praying twice" or for the listener if the singer couldn't carry a tune.

In either case, the Lord will have mercy!

God bless!

Well when I became a Christian way back in 1982, it was because of a 'Why Knock Rock' seminar. Up until that time, I had no idea of what I was listening to.....I could just sing every lyric and wasn't stopping to think about what they said.
Immediately afterwards, we went to a friend's house and stayed up all nite talking about the seminar and listening to Amy Grant's Age to Age album....it was the first time I had heard Christian music.

But by that time, I was hooked! My brother gave me some tapes by the Imperials, Sandi Patti, Evie Tournquist and Kathy Troccoli. I loved them! So I found a Christian station near me and began listening while I grew in my new found faith.

I must say that adding the music to my faith helped out tremendously with the thought process! It was easy to focus more on God's Word when it was being sung and glorified by Christian artists.

Soon I joined Word's music club and began receiving Christian albums in the mail. That was such a blessing since I got to hear first run cuts of newbies like Michael W. Smith, Rich Mullins and Steve Taylor!! I began building a CCM library and had over 100 albums and tapes! I still listen to these 'oldies' today and love them just as much! Now I am trying to replace some of the worn out vinyl and tapes with CDs and am finding that the old adage is true: "You know you are old when your favorite albums are in the bargain bins!" I have just found Petra's Captured in Time and Space at Lifeway for $6.99 and am thrilled since it is one of my most favorite albums!!

oh and look, a sceptic ;) ah well, ministry knows no bounds.

Thanks Joe for your nice comment. I like the saying that Music is Love in Search of a Word as well. :)
